Alright, so. I’ve always had a peeve with how most characters in SF seldom age throughout the series. I remember playing SFA for the first time and saying “wow, it’s awesome to look at Ryu, Ken, Chun-li, etc. as young people!” and I always wondered if the time would come when they’d move forward with them and actually make them look older. I had this issue a lot with Sakura so I just tried to imagine how’d she’d look if she actually moved forward, idk. Maybe she actually got to train with Ryu for a while and then took off on her own. I added the red bandana detail to still keep some of Ryu in her (a parting gift perhaps?), but I also wanted to show in her outfit that she’s not only matured as a fighter but actually moved on from her admiration/infatuation of/with Ryu and decided to pursue her own path in martial arts seriously. I’m aware her outfit looks disgustingly similar to Abel’s so I may do some other options later on. Figured she’d sew in patches of flags from the places she’s been to, sort of a track record of where she’s fought, maybe to remember her friends by. She pursues the warrior’s path with the same dedication as her former mentor, but she does it with much more cheerfulness and personality and I wanted to show that in how she presents herself. I’m definitely gonna keep doing this, maybe more characters. We’ll see.
